The San Gabriel Valley Training Center (also known as The Roland Center), a nonprofit serving adults with developmental disabilities, has announced the selection of its next Executive Director, Vanessa Besack, MBA. Vanessa has nearly 20 years of experience creating awareness and support for nonprofits and their missions. She has a successful track record of advocating for individuals who need a voice, attracting additional revenues, developing new programs and creating operational structures that support organizational growth. Her passion for serving the developmentally disabled began at an early age. In high school, she was selected by faculty to become a peer counselor to students supporting students with a broad range of developmental disabilities.
Board President Ron Roland noted, “We are very pleased to be welcoming a new leader with such energy, commitment, and depth of experience in the nonprofit arena, who also is devoted to improving the lives of those with developmental disabilities. We look forward to many more decades of service to individuals and families who choose employment settings appropriate to their needs and desires.”
Mr. Roland also commented, “we are very appreciative of the expertise of Marc Haupert and the Third Sector Company team. The process was efficient, cost-effective and brought us wonderful candidates. We couldn’t have done it without Third Sector Company.”
In response to her hiring, Vanessa commented, “I am honored to join such a longstanding and essential resource for the developmental disabled community in Southern California. Employment is the cornerstone of all of our families’ success and the stability and accomplishment of the Training Center is unsurpassed.”
