Third Sector Company is pleased to announce that Mike Radice has been selected as the Interim Executive Director of HOPE Center for the Arts in Irvine, California.
For almost four decades, HOPE Center for the Arts has provided arts education for adults in Orange County, CA, with Intellectual Disabilities. HOPE offers instruction in visual art, music, theater, and dance; arranges exhibitions and videos of student work; and manages the pop music band Hi Hopes, an ensemble performing at local events. HOPE hosts an Etsy store of student work from which students earn a percentage of the profit.
Mike said of the engagement, “It is such a joy to walk in the door every day and watch the students create beautiful art, music, and movement. The arts offer a path for many to communicate when traditional routes are closed. The beauty inside of them flows out into the world.”
Mike is a graduate of Interim Executives Academy Class #12 and had an initial career as a School Psychologist for public and private schools, evaluating students with special needs and helping families and schools craft successful interventions. He had a second career in nonprofit management as an Executive Director and Development Director. He earned a B.S. in Secondary Education and Music from Miami University (OH), an M.A. and M.S. in School Psychology and Mental Health Counseling from Wright State University, a PGS in Nonprofit Management from New York University, and a Ph.D. In Public History and Nonprofit Management from The Union Institute and University. He is also the author of Professional Moneyraising for Schools (2014).
All of the Third Sector Company community sends our best wishes to Mike and our thanks to the leadership at HOPE Center for the Arts for putting their trust in the people, teachings and programs of Third Sector Company that have served nonprofits over the past 20 years.
