New Interim Executive for Animal Welfare Shelter

New Interim Executive for Animal Welfare Shelter

Third Sector Company is pleased to announce that Frances Walker has been selected as the Interim Executive Director of PAWS of Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap in Bainbridge Island, Washington.

PAWS of Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap advocates, educates, and provides direct services to nurture the bond of companionship between pets and their people, for the health and well-being of both. In 1975, the Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) was founded. Since that time, PAWS has become a thriving, vital presence on Bainbridge Island and in North Kitsap. Through education, awareness, and financial aid, PAWS is realizing its vision of reducing pet overpopulation and the unnecessary euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals while facilitating responsible, caring relationships between people and their pets.

“In the past few weeks, I have been incredibly impressed by the dedication, commitment and passion of the PAWSBINK staff, Board and volunteers,” said Frances of her interim engagement. “This is a tremendous organization and I feel honored to work with the team to build a solid foundation for its next chapter.”

Frances is a graduate of Interim Executives Academy Class #8 and has over 20 years of experience managing health, social justice, and economic development organizations and programs, with a diverse portfolio of work focused on improving the lives of at-risk and marginalized populations. She has worked with a broad range of organizations from community start-up NGOs to The Clinton Foundation, the University of Washington Global Health, the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services, and the Pan American Health Organization. Frances holds a Master’s Degree in International Affairs and an MBA in Sustainable Business.

All of the Third Sector Company community sends our best to Frances and our thanks to the leadership at PAWS of Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap for putting their trust in the people, teachings and programs of Third Sector Company that have served nonprofits over the past 20 years.
