Public Library Foundation Selects Interim Executive

Third Sector Company is pleased to announce that Kathy McCarrell has started as the Interim Executive Director of the Long Beach Public Library Foundation.

 

The Long Beach Public Library Foundation enhances Long Beach Public Libraries and encourages literacy and education for all members of the community in Long Beach, California. Since 1996, the Long Beach Public Library Foundation has fundraised and advocated for equal access to literacy, education, technology, and essential community resources

 

Kathy said of the engagement, “I am thrilled to be serving at the Long Beach Public Library Foundation during their executive management transition. It is a privilege to be part of the powerful and culturally sensitive programs of LBPF devoted to bridging the digital and education divide in the Long Beach community.

 

I have found that the Interim Executive Management services offered by Third Sector Company are more important than ever as nonprofits return to the in-person workplace after an abrupt pivot to the online environment, as a result of the COVID pandemic. Assessing the gaps caused by the unplanned change in service delivery, reconnecting the staff team and board, and revisiting potential changes in how we serve the needs of both the staff and constituents in this new environment, are among the many challenges facing all nonprofits today.

 

Kathy brings over 25 years of experience leading key nonprofits in Southern California, having most recently steered the Newport Beach Public Library Foundation through their management transition. Kathy also served as the Interim Executive Director of the Long Beach Day Nursery.
