Third Sector Company would like to extend an invitation to our “ Taste Of Board Chairs Academy” event on Tuesday March 28th. The event will be held in Tacoma, at the Milgard Work Opportunity Center, from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. This workshop will cover key elements of Third Sector’s Board Chairs Academy workshop and give attendees a taste of how the program can benefit their causes.

What will be covered in the session?
It can be difficult to maintain the vision through a leadership transition. Managing boards and motivating volunteers is no small task. That’s why our goals with Board Chairs Academy are to build more effective board leadership and to help you ensure your cause’s next generation of leaders is prepared for the task at hand. Key topics covered include:
- A Board and Governance Self-Assessment:How can your governing body run an assessment to see what is going well and what can be improved?
- A Fundraising Culture Self-Assessment: We’ll help you take a deeper look into your organization’s fundraising culture and share insight that has helped many organizations financially fuel their causes
- A New Approach to Board Development: To explore how your nonprofit’s leadership can be further developed and provide resources to help you help your cause.
How is this session different than the full Board Academy Chairs Series?
This session is just a taste of the full course. While this seminar is a one day, two hour overview, our full course is done in six sessions over six months. The full course delves deeper into strategic governance rooted in advancing a cause, building sustainability, resilience, and impact with your cause, advocacy and responsibility among leaders, financial prudence, and a commitment to a sustainable future and planning for succession.

You can bring up to six representatives from your organization. If you would like to order lunch for the event, it will cost $15.00 per person and can be indicated on your registration form.
How can I sign up for the full Board Chairs Academy course?
We will be offering the full course series in September in Seattle and Tacoma, Washington and in Long Beach, California. More information about the full course seriescan be found on our website. You are not required to enroll in the full course after this event. It is intended to be a preview of the course to see if you think it will be right for your organization.
