Third Sector Company is thrilled to announce that Karin Sabey has been selected as the Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Kansas City Beacon in Kansas City, Missouri.

 

The Kansas City Beacon is a non-profit online news outlet focused on in-depth journalism in the public interest. Beacon stories are revelatory, contextual, data-driven and solutions-driven. The reporting centers around issues in health care, education, economics, environment and civic engagement.

 

Karin said of the engagement, “It has truly been a privilege to join The Beacon for this interim engagement. Working with such a dynamic and engaged team of staff, board members and stakeholders has been energizing. Their collective passion for the mission is inspiring and will surely serve as the springboard that will propel The Beacon into the next successful chapter.

 

Karin is a graduate of Interim Executives Academy Class #13 and brings more than two decades of experience leading nonprofit organizations that seek to improve access to services for people and communities impacted by systemic and social inequities. Karin is a change agent skilled at identifying and activating the drivers that transform people, ideas, and organizations. Karin earned a BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Lethbridge.
