Third Sector Company is thrilled to announce that Kristin Barsness, Ph.D., CFRE, has been selected as the Interim Executive Director of Sarcoma Alliance in Mill Valley, California.


The Sarcoma Alliance strives to improve the lives of people affected by sarcoma through accurate diagnosis, improved access to care, guidance, education, and support. The Sarcoma Alliance was founded to address the needs of this unique community.


Kristin said of the engagement, “It’s been a privilege to work alongside the dedicated board and staff of the Sarcoma Alliance, and to meet the community we serve. Our mission to help sarcoma patients know that they are not alone, and to provide unwavering hope and support throughout their journeys inspires me every day.


Kristin is a graduate of Interim Executives Academy Class #12 and brings more than 20 years of nonprofit executive and fundraising experience, including leadership roles in healthcare and higher education fundraising, 11 years of fundraising consulting for nonprofits across the Pacific Northwest, and a career serving the nonprofit sector. She has earned a reputation for extensive frontline nonprofit leadership and fundraising as well as consulting experience with a depth of campaign, planning, and forecasting skills. Kristin earned a BA in Anthropology from Cornell and a Masters and Doctorate in Anthropology from Bryn Mawr College.
