Third Sector Company is pleased to announce that Deb Merle has been selected as the Interim Executive Director of ECOSS.
ECOSS, formerly known as the Environmental Coalition of South Seattle, delivers environmental solutions that meet the needs of businesses, people and nature across Washington. Since the 1990s, ECOSS has been a leading urban environmental nonprofit in Seattle specializing in bridging knowledge and cultural gaps, serving the interests of residents, industry and government.
While ECOSS is losing an amazing Executive Director, we look forward to continuing to work with Third Sector Company as we search for the next leader for this unique and special organization.”
During Deb’s career in public education research, advocacy and policymaking, she worked to
advance equity with a focus on how best to equip students of color and low-income students for
success in college. Deb earned her B.A. in Political Science and her M.A. in Educational
Psychology, both from the University of Washington.
Prior to her work at ECOSS, Deb served as Interim Executive Director of Equal Opportunity Schools, earning the honor of “Interim of the Year” for 2019, Third Sector Company’s highest national honor that recognizes professionals for providing exemplary transitional leadership to nonprofit organizations, associations and congregations.
