Dr. Terry brings to Atlantic Street Center a professional career spanning more than 30 years, and a strong commitment to promoting advocacy, empowerment, and quality of life for vulnerable children, adults and families. She is a collaborator who brings extensive administrative management skills, along with expertise in supporting specialized human services programs.

“Atlantic Street Center looks forward to the addition of one whose professional accomplishments include building capacity enhancements, diversifying revenue streams, and enhancing fiscal stabilization, maximizing revenue captures, and implementing effective compliance and financial risk management tools. The depth of knowledge that she brings to Atlantic Street Center will fortify its future for another 100-plus years and deepen its commitment to being an anti-racist agency.”
Since 2010, Dr. Terry served in senior and executive leadership roles overseeing quality and corporate compliance initiatives for Hudson Valley Service Member organizations in New York State, and recently acted as the Chief Quality and Compliance Officer/HIPPA Privacy Officer at CRVI in Middletown, New York.
She has also served in additional leadership and Board of Director roles with other non-profits and educational organizations, including her role as co-founding Director and Officer of a nonprofit grass-roots organization in Queens, NY.
Pela Selene Terry, Ed. D., received her Doctor of Education in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher College’s Ralph C. Wilson Jr. School of Education (Rochester, NY), and a Master of Public Administration in Human Services (Focus: Policy & Social Justice) at The College of New Rochelle.

Founded in 1910, Atlantic Street Center (ASC) provides wrap-around services including education, family support, and behavioral health counseling to the low-income minority populations of King and Pierce Counties. Atlantic Street Center is committed to serving the African American community, providing services and support for all marginalized people. In 2019, ASC served over 8,106 vulnerable children, youth, adults, and seniors.
