Community Land Trust Chooses Interim Executive

Community Land Trust Chooses Interim Executive

Third Sector Company is pleased to announce that Rakhi Agrawal has been selected as the Interim Executive Director of Richmond LAND in Richmond, California.

In 2019, Richmond CDE changed its name to Richmond LAND and began creating and implementing the vision for community-controlled land and housing. By making a commitment to adopting the community land trust model for land acquisition and community development projects, Richmond LAND ensures that its power-building and visionary development efforts are rooted in perpetual affordability and long-term stewardship.

Rakhi said of the engagement, I am committed to collaborating with people and organizations who share my vision, values, frameworks, and joy, on work that radically redistributes power to intersectional BIPOC communities, especially through abolitionist thought and decolonial imagination. The commitment of Richmond LAND to deepen democracy in community control, mutual benefit, and collective ownership is inspiring and I am honored to help operationalize its values and set the team up for their next chapter.”

Rakhi is a graduate of Interim Executives Academy Class #13 and offers more than 12 years of experience in the nonprofit sector as a consultant rooted in equity, justice, and liberation work with a background in nonprofit interim executive leadership, development, grant writing, movement-building, capacity-building, and community organizing, seeking opportunities to make a profound social impact. Rakhi earned a BA from Columbia University in Applied Mathematics and Philosophy.

All of the Third Sector Company community sends our best wishes to Rakhi and our thanks to the leadership at Richmond  LAND for putting their trust in the people, teachings and programs of Third Sector Company that have served nonprofits over the past 20 years.
