Community Campaign Selects First Executive Director

The Nonprofit Leadership Search and Support team at Third Sector Company is pleased to share that Phillip Prud’homme has been appointed as the first Executive Director of Friends of Lopez Island Pool (FLIP).

As Executive Director, Pru’homme will complete a $4 million+ capital campaign to launch construction and prepare for the successful operation of a year-round, all-age swim center on Lopez Island in the San Juan Islands for residents and visitors.

I am so excited about the Lopez Island Pool!” says Philip. “The FLIP Board, volunteers, and elected officials have established a strong base for this project. I’m incredibly thankful for this opportunity and look forward to working with the Lopez community to make this facility a reality. Community health, fitness, swimming, physical therapy, and a safe place for teens and families – these things fire me up.

Bill LeDrew, FLIP President, shared, “We are thrilled to welcome Philip as our new Executive Director. We are very fortunate to have such a fundraising professional to lead our capital campaign and make the Lopez swim center a reality for all Lopezians.

Prud’homme brings over ten years of experience in the nonprofit sector and most recently served as Director of Development at United Way of Skagit County. Previously he served as Club Director at multiple locations for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County. Prud’homme swims with Thunderbird Aquatics Club Masters in Anacortes and as its unofficial social director has helped the club grow from very few swimmers to over 60 people.

All of the Third Sector Company community sends our very best to Phillip and FLIP in advancing the cause of bringing greater health, water safety and community to San Juan County!

FLIP is a nonprofit volunteer-powered organization working to create a year-round, all ages indoor swim center on Lopez Island. Started as a grassroots effort, the community has raised $4.4 million dollars, 55% of the $8 million campaign goal, with an additional $510,000 maintenance reserve fund and a $100,000 scholarship fund to ensure access for all children. With State and County dollars backing the project, momentum is strong to finish the campaign.

Third Sector Company is delighted to support organizations like FLIP. Since its inception in 2002, Third Sector Company’s mission has been firmly rooted in providing leadership continuity solutions to the nonprofit sector. Like all of our services, Nonprofit Leadership Search and Support was created by nonprofit executives to be of benefit to our peers and to the entire nonprofit sector.
