Jeffrey R. Wilcox

Founder, President & CEO

Jeffrey is former Senior Vice President of United Way of Greater Los Angeles and Valley of the Sun United Way (Phoenix). He is the nonprofit columnist of the “The Third Sector Report” which appears in the Long Beach Business Journal. He is past Chair, Executive Transitions Affinity Group for The Alliance For Nonprofit Management, Past President of the Orange County (CA) Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and a member of the board of directors of Advancement Northwest in Seattle. Named Alumnus of the Year in 2015 by Seattle Pacific University, he chairs the Executive Advisory Board of the School of Business, Government & Economics at SPU. Jeffrey is also a partner of Social Venture Partners in Los Angeles and Seattle and is an advisor to the Encore Fellows Program in Los Angeles.

Helen heads up the recruitment and placement of qualified professional interims that have been trained by Third Sector Company for their work with nonprofit organizations in transition. She has an extensive background in nonprofits that includes fundraising and leadership training, sponsorship development, donor recognition, policies and procedures, program assessment, and mentoring. She has served on nonprofit boards and has chaired several committees and major fundraising events.

Marti provides leadership, expertise and guidance to construction project owners with Kramer Management Group, Inc. She is committed to excellence and education within the engineering and construction sectors, offering leadership and team building, strategic planning, improved volunteer/board relations, nonprofit management and more.

Senior Managing Community Partner – Northern California

With an extensive background in leadership support, process development and implementation, and strategic planning for non-profit and for-profit businesses, Gail Grimm is an experienced executive of project and process management. She brings some important experience to ThirdSectorCompany in her role as Senior Managing Community Partner. Gail is also the owner and acting consultant for her own firm, GL Grimm Consulting, where she specializes in organizational and strategic development in the nonprofit community.

Since 1996, Jan has been president of his own consulting firm, Jan Glick & Associates, which brings his unique expertise to Third Sector Company. The author of Nonprofit Turnaround, A Guide for Nonprofit Leaders, Consultants and Funders, his specializations include nonprofit leadership and management coaching and training, nonprofit mergers and restructuring, executive search and succession, and strategic planning.


Wayne Robert

Senior Professional Advisor – British Columbia & Canada

Wayne has earned a noteworthy reputation of successfully guiding nonprofits through difficult times, effective fiscal management, successful personnel and corporate management, achieving goals and more from over 20 years of continuous work with nonprofits. He brings his collaborative vision and engaging personality to ThirdSectorCompany, helping to engage our clients’ stakeholders and staff toward cooperative action in order to meet practical, measurable goals.

Interim of the Year


Joan McBride

Joan McBride earned this recognition for her outstanding performance as Interim Capital Campaign Manager at Westerly School in Long Beach. In this role, she provided temporary on-site professional expertise and capital campaign coordination for Westerly’s major renovation and capital improvements project. Joan represents our first award-recipient as an interim director of development. She has successfully proven that interim leadership can be another capital campaign management option to smaller nonprofit organizations.
